Break
down barriers (fences) that keep you from knowing, communicating and
sharing with your neighbor. Stop criticizing them for the things they
lack or cannot do.
Fix their
fence if they are unable...
Build
a porch on the front of your home and sit out there... you
WILL get to know your neighbor and you won't need a "Neighborhood
Watch" or roving police. You become a force that buglars, theives
and rapists cannot ignore!
Take care
of an elderly person's home (your own parents) near you so that it
does not go into disrepair and hurt the value of their own home, and
yours.
Stop basing
the value of your home on how well a neighbor keeps up their yard.
Europeans manage to build mansions near slums. Do you think their value
goes down? In the US we excommunicate ourselves from the "great
unwashed", as though we are princes and princesses. Prices for
homes are going do drop dramatically anyway, and soon...
Stop dictating
what others can or cannot do on one's own property, unless one physically
harms another person or their property. We destroy their property rights
and our own as well. Just so we can have a neat and tidy "stepford
wives" neighborhood. How quaint and downright UGLY! HOA's, HMO's,
POA's, ad nauseum, are destroying property rights through wanna be
fascist snobbery! Talk to your neighbor about it... not some "authority".
Give Freely...
like you've never given before! But only when it feels "right".
All else is false and diminishes the value of the "gift".
Especially when it is "given" from your hard earned money...
via taxation! Charity can never be forced, or it is not charity.
